Suzy Wandas

Suzy Wandas (1896 - July 12, 1986) was born Jean Van Dyk in Belgium to magicians Charles and Elizabeth Van Dyk. She became part of the act as a child, walking the slack rope and playing the violin while dancing as Miss White Flower.

She was inspired after seeing Talma doing manipulation magic to take up magic and was doing a cards and coins manipulation act by the age of 14. She became one of the best at manipulation magic.

After her farther passed away, her brother Louis was added to the act and they started performing as The Three Wandas. She chose a stage name “Suzy” from the popular song of the day “If You Knew Suzy”.

After her brother Louis was injured in World War I, Susy and her mom kept performing as the Wanda Sisters. When her mom retired in 1936, Suzy continued to perform throughout Europe and later the United States. Susy was able to speak five languages. Her cabaret show included ropes, thimbles, cigarettes, canes, silks, coins, the Miser’s Dream, card fans, and a routine with eight linking rings. She was billed as “Suzy Wandas, the Lady with the Fairy Fingers”.

Tom Mullica

David Williamson

Mark Wilson

Mark Wilson is an American magician and author. He is widely credited as becoming the first major “television magician” and in the process establishing the viability of illusion shows as a television format.

His wife, Nani Darnell, assisted him and they were joined by Bev Bergeron, who helped write the shows and played his character, Rebo the Clown. Kellogg’s Cereals bought the series and moved it to Hollywood’s CBS-TV in 1960.

Tom Noddy

Tom Noddy was born in Paterson New Jersey.

As a young man (in his twenties) saving up to live in Europe, he’d keep himself busy by playing with Yo-Yos, string toys, and a variety of other inexpensive hobbies.

That’s when he got the idea to start blowing bubbles.

“I was a smoker and I would fill them with smoke. I started seeing them do things; two bubbles in the air would bounce off of each other, or join together, or come together as one! If you look closely at suds for a long time you will go crazy …I know, I did it for years. I became obsessed. ” - Tom Noddy.

Rene Lavand

Rene Lavand is a magician from Argentina specialising in close-up performance. He has appeared in Ed Sullivan’s and Johnny Carson’s television shows as well as shows at Hollywood’s Magic Castle.

The catchphrase he uses to close several of his tricks is “No se puede hacer más lento” (Spanish for “it can’t be done any slower”), referencing the intentional slow pace at which he performs.
