Gali Gali
Luxor Gali Gali was born Mahgoub Mohammed Hanafi in Egypt. He is noted for his cups and balls finale (which you must watch to believe.)
The translation of his stage name is “Quickly Quickly” and this title has been used by members of his family, for eight generations.
Watch Gali Gali perform his famous Cups and Balls routine on the DuMont Television Network.

Actually, I am the one who has a drop jaw now.
I cant believe that, First of all I am Egyptian who love magic since i was 8, and continued to learn and practice this kind of art till I became a member of The IBM ( International Brotherhood of Magicians) in 1998 when I was 23 years old.
What really bother me is that I didn’t hear about him (luxor Gali Gali) all That time I thought that the great stars in this magnificent Art should always be from the West. Further more how could such rare footage are not available at any kind of Egyptian Museums or even with his family?
Anyway many thanks for Mr Lee Asher of course for his passion and love of the art that made him collect all those clips especially this rare one.
PS) The translation of his stage name as “Gali Gali“ would be more accurate to be the equivalent of the words ” Hocus Pocus” but in Egyptian Slang.
For Mr Nabil Abu El Magd, and all grandsons of Mr Mr. Mahgoub Mohammed Hanafi (Luxor Gali Gali) hope we could be in contact, It really honer me

Thank you for finding Mahgoub Mohammed Hanafi. This is the first time that i see my uncle in a show.
I only had pictures of him.
My father was a magician too and this video above was my fathers act (Ahmed Mohammed Hanafi).
He was born in port side 1911.
Mahgoub Mohammed Hanafi was the 7th generation and my father was the last.
Once again thank you for putting this video on the net.

Dear Martin Hanafi,
I am really glad to see your comment, but I cant find the video you mentioned that its your Father,s act?
Please relink the video as I am little bit confused whether you mean that the above video of your uncle (Mahgoub Mohammed Hanafi), or this is your father?
hope to hear from you:

My mother was taken to see Gali-Gali as a child in Glasgow, Scotland in 1939. She remembers the act to this day. Her father was a huge fan, and invited Gali-Gali to dinner. Mr. Gali-Gali wouldn’t eat because he had a show to do — but he sat with my grandfather and his daughters and performed ‘close-up” magic for them. My mother has never forgotten this remarkable entertainer. Thank you for posting this video and giving me a chance to see the act that impressed my mother so much.
